How to create a booked job
Transcription:
In this tutorial, we're going to take a look at how to create a sea job, a road job and an air job, step by step.
We begin by creating a new booked job.
Fill out the fields on the left hand side, working your way down and to the right.
First is the customer reference.
Next is the job type, where we can specify that job is by land, sea or air, and whether it's an import or export.
Status allows you to differentiate between jobs which are quoted, booked or complete.
'Assigned to' lets you assign the job to yourself or your colleagues.
You can also select the sales manager associated with the job, as well as change the currency.
In the second column, we can connect the job to a pre-existing customer.
For a new customer which doesn't yet exist in the database, you can click the 'plus' icon to create a new customer. When these fields are completed, click 'create and select'.
In the third column, we'll leave the job basis as 'Brokerage'.
Under 'load type', you can specify a full load or partial load.
Fill out the commodity, UN No. & Class or Ltd Qty, and inco terms. Check the box for harazdous goods if necessary. The 'Special requirements' field is for internal notes on the job.
In the fourth column, check the "customs clearance required" box if appropriate.
Every customer should have default clearance instructions which populate the 'clearance instructions' field. These instructions should be added when creating a new customer.
Now let's scroll down the page. We can add a shipper, consignee, local agent and overseas agent.
Further below, we can add a collection and delivery address. Multiple delivery addresses can be selected, and each delivery address has its own transport instruction to a specific supplier, pickup instruction for the transport company, and vehicle details.
Finally, we fill out the cargo details. As we've selected a sea job, we can select the container type, as well as a container number, seal number, description of goods, number of items, total cube dimensions and total weight.
Once we have multiple delivery points, we can then add cargo details to each specific delivery point, and then click 'add cargo detail'.
For road jobs, the cargo details will be different, and you will be able to select a truck type.
For air jobs, the cargo details will also change appropriately.
Regarding the load type, if we select a partial load, we are then able to type in the individual sizes and dimensions of items.
That will be all for this tutorial on road, sea and air jobs.
